After you launch OnSite you see this error message: “Lightspeed is unable to verify that any automated backups have completed in the last 7 days. Please check your backup schedule, or contact Lightspeed Support for assistance.”
The cause for this message can be that your automated backups are unable to run. When you set up OnSite you are prompted to set a backup schedule for automated backups. By default your OnSite backup will run overnight. It is important to ensure your Mac is on and does not fall asleep for your backup to complete successfully.
- On your Lightspeed Server from the Apple menu go to System Preferences > Energy Saver.
- Set the Power Adapter setting to Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off.
You can verify the date of your last automated backup by inspecting the backups folder at Macintosh HD/Users/Shared/LightSpeed/Backups/.
If you note unexplained gaps in the dates of the automated backup files or the file sizes rise and fall inconsistently, you will wish to ensure your backups are set up according to Running backups.
