Troubleshooting a card swipe

Follow these steps If your card swipe does not respond when swiping credit cards or gift cards.

  1. Open a Finder window.
  2. On the Menu bar click Go and select Go to Folder.
  3. In the text field type /Library/Preferences and click Go.
  4. Locate the file, move it to the Trash and empty the Trash.
  5. Disconnect your barcode scanner.
  6. Disconnect your card swipe.
  7. Restart your Mac.
  8. When the restart is complete, reconnect your card swipe.
  9. When you see the Keyboard Setup Assistant appear, close it by clicking the red circle in the top left corner.
  10. In OnSite StoreMaster on the File menu click Station Setup and check that the correct model of card swipe is selected.
