OnSite has three predefined user groups: administrator, manager, and salesperson. You can modify their privileges and create custom user groups to suit your business requirements. For example, you can create a senior salesperson group for trusted sales associates.
Privileges can have these settings:
Allowed | User can access this privilege |
Not allowed | User can't access this privilege |
User authentication | User must confirm their username and password to access this privilege |
Mgr/admin authentication | User must have a manager or administrator enter their username and password to grant access to this privilege |
Admin authentication | User must have an administrator enter their username and password to grant access to this privilege |
To set up user privileges
- In OnSite StoreMaster on the Tools menu click Setup > Basics > Privileges.
- Click the user type you want to view: administrator, manager or salesperson.
- You can click an a privilege and select a new setting for it.
- You can create a new privilege level by double-clicking a user type, entering an name for it and then modifying its permissions.
To view logged actions
Each time a privileged action is performed, attempted or refused it is logged in the Lightspeed log. You can view the log and see who deleted and edited documents and when, and much more, even months or years after the fact.
To view the Lightspeed log, in OnSite go to Tools > Utilities > Log.
